EICR (Electrical Inspection Condition Report)
A periodic inspection report is a legal requirement to be carried out at least once every 5 years on electrical systems within domestic premises, commercial properties and on industrial establishments to determine whether the installations are in a satisfactory or un-satisfactory condition.
Emergency Lighting
A test that simulates power failure or when normal electrical illumination fails, but still provides sufficient illumination in the event of an evacuation. This test is carried out annually but recommended to be carried out six monthly at intervals of 3 hour and 1 hour to determine if the lights are functional, non-functional or if they last the time specified.
Fire Alarms
A series of tests carried out on all fire alarm accessories and devices to make sure they are fully functioning in the event of a fire under energized and de-energized conditions and each zone of the building is free from faults.
PAT (Portable Appliance Testing)
The process of carrying out a series of visual inspections and electrical tests on 110v, 230v and 415v appliances to establish if they are safe and suitable for use. If an appliance doesn’t conform, it is rectified to a suitable condition or fitted with a failed PAT sticker and taken out of service till it’s safe to use.
